A new computer
has been purchased
there are many things
to do.

A man sits,
he types,
he transfers
information.

Even with
the new,
the old
still has
a role.

One directory
after another
is checked
for relevance.

Does it
come over,
or does it stay?

The process
is repeated
for every directory.

Laborious,
time-consuming,
one after the other.

Thankfully,
we do not buy
a new computer
everyday.

The task
is complete
the new and old
are now united.

A thought
crosses his mind,
he ponders
this thought.

Today’s society
is so quick
to embrace the new,
that it tends
to forget the old.

As with computers
the old
has a role.

Do not ignore
what has happened,
what has been learned,
for it brings us
to where we are
today.

Everyone
of any age
has a role
and a value
to society.

If you choose
to ignore someone
because of their age,
you lose the opportunity
to gain an insight
into life.

For our senior citizens
have a breadth
of experience
that few others
will understand.

Take a moment,
sit and chat,
what you learn,
will add more
to your day
than anything
that is new.

For life
is about experiences,
experiences had,
experiences now,
experiences in the future.

Experience
does count,
take the opportunity
to enhance yours.

Share a moment
with someone
today.
